September 12, 2014 – Muncie, IN – Shafer Leadership Academy, East Central Indiana’s nonprofit community leadership institute, is now accepting registrations for the organization’s core program Emergence: Personal Foundations of Effective Leadership. This course marks the fourteenth offering of Emergence since 2007. To this point, over 300 individual have graduated from the program.
Emergence is an eight-week highly interactive and engaging training opportunity ideal for emerging or experienced leaders seeking to enhance their leadership capabilities. At the end of the program, participants can expect to be better equipped to lead the change they want to see in the businesses, not-for-profits, civic groups, and communities they represent. Each of the eight sessions of Emergence provides actionable insights one can use to better understand their particular leadership style and to enhance their leadership capabilities.
One graduate from the most recent Emergence class had this to say about his experience, “I thoroughly enjoyed each session and have gained more knowledge, inspiration, and momentum from this leadership class than any I have attended previously.”
Emergence will begin on Thursday, October 2nd and conclude on Wednesday, November 19th, 2014. The program begins with a day-long session where participants learn about various learning and leadership styles including insight into their own personal style. The six, three-hour evening sessions in the middle focus on specific leadership skills valuable in any environment. The course concludes with a half-day session in which participants develop personal leadership action plans and build a strategy for applying what they’ve learned throughout the course
