June 5, 2014 – Muncie IN – Shafer Leadership Academy has announced the graduation of nineteen East Central Indiana community leaders from its most recent class of Emergence: Personal Foundations of Effective Leadership. Sessions began earlier this spring on April 16th and concluded on June 4th, 2014.
Emergence is an eight-week, highly interactive leadership training program that seeks to develop and enhance the individual leadership abilities of emerging and experienced leaders. It also fosters collaborative and connective approaches to problem solving in the communities of East Central Indiana. This year alone, Shafer Leadership Academy will deliver more than 3,000 student hours of leadership training to participants. These program participants represent corporations, nonprofit organizations, school systems, and government entities and come from nearly every county in East Central Indiana.
Participants graduating from class #13 represent sixteen different East Central Indiana companies and organizations include Carly Acree King (Cornerstone Center for the Arts), Antonio Benford (Boys & Girls Club), Lauren Berger (Ball State University), Daniel Bright (Ontario Systems), Leanna Cole (Open Door Health Services), Lisa Fernandez (LifeStream Services), Stuart Godfrey(krM Architecture), Curt Grams (Camp Yale), Julie Hatfield (Muncie Power Products), Josh Moore (Minnetrista), John Nieman III (Second Harvest Food Bank), Justin Overmyer (Muncie YMCA), Jeffrey Rahe (First Merchants Bank), Emmy Rawson (Muncie Central High School Student), Natalie Swallow (MutualBank), Lucas Tetrault (Whitinger Strategic Services), Tim Werner (MutualBank), Hannah Whiteman (Minnetrista), and Shane Woodman (Muncie Power Products).
